"I was close to not going on that ferry"

"It's funny, people say moments change people's lives and single moments they do."

From a single choice, a single moment, Aidan set off to Waiheke island where he would be introduced to his future bride, Hannah. Three years later he would propose to her, and four years to the day they met they were married in Russell

Your dream day.

"With the Duke's wedding coordinator planning was a breeze. She shared a genuine excitement for our upcoming nuptials and made for such a positive planning experience."

Ceremony.

There is a stunning garden area alongside the ballroom which is the perfect place for ceremonies under the historic 150 year old fig tree along with ocean views. The large deck attached to the ballroom overlooking the seas is also a perfect location for your wedding ceremony. The deck is a great wet weather option as it is fully enclosed with clear blinds and heating.

Reception.

The Duke of Marlborough's grand ball room with ornate ceilings, low hanging chandeliers and polished wooden floor boards open up directly onto sun filled decks overlooking the sea. The ball room is filled with individually upholstered chairs seating up to 140 guests comfortably

The hotel itself has loads of character and charm and the only thing we would have done different is stayed longer!

From planning through to celebrating our very special day, the Duke went above and beyond in every way. They were so helpful with suggesting great, local vendors and always flexible in meeting our needs.

Working with a licensed venue from a distance is a fantastic option as we had no need to worry about service, food, alcohol and even decorations were super easy as this location is superb!
